1. Which payment methods does Sixt car rental offer?

At Sixt Car Rental for corporate customers, you can conveniently choose to pay on account or with the following credit cards:

  • American Express
  • Diner’s Club
  • Eurocard
  • Visa
  • Mastercard

Pre-paid cards and VISA Electron are not accepted. Cheques and cash payments are also not possible at any Sixt branch.

2. Can you collect Miles & More miles with Sixt?

Sixt and Miles & More have been partners for a long time with the aim of providing customers with tailored offers and premium services. As a Miles & More member, you benefit from special conditions at all Lufthansa destinations. And best of all, if you book by telephone with Lufthansa, you can be forwarded directly to Sixt from all Lufthansa call centers worldwide.

You earn miles with every trip, so you get Miles & More miles from the very first rental. As a HON Circle member, you will receive the Diamond Sixt card with even more miles per booking and even higher discounts.

3. What is the ACRISS code?

Sixt’s rental car fleet includes a wide range of vehicles from subcompact cars to sports cars, limousines, SUVs and vans. For the sake of clarity and standardisation, these are divided into vehicle categories worldwide, according to the international standard ACRISS code (Association of Car Rental Industry Systems Standards). This includes various features, such as size, equipment, and engine. Since you book a car classification at Sixt, not a model, it is always ensured that your required equipment (air conditioning, automatic transmission, etc.) as well as features (convertible, 5 doors, etc.) are taken into account when booking.

4. Where can I see, change or request my Sixt bill?

You can view your Sixt rental car invoice in your Customer account. There, you can also download a free copy. You don’t need to request the invoice for your Sixt rental car separately; you can simply print it out.

Please note that invoice copies are available no earlier than two days after the vehicle is returned.

5. Where can I change, cancel or rebook my Sixt reservation?

You can easily change your Sixt reservation in your Customer account. There, you may also extend your Sixt rental, rebook a Sixt reservation or cancel your Sixt company rental car if your plans have changed.

6. What happens in case of a misdemeanour during the rental period?

The lessee is liable without limitation for all costs and fees occurring in connection with traffic offences according to the General Terms and Conditions. We transmit the driver’s data that were specified and accepted at the time of the rental to the requesting authority.

In addition, a lump sum for expenses will be charged. The fine is not included in this and must be paid directly to the issuing authority.

To avoid fines, please inform yourself in advance about the relevant traffic and parking regulations in the countries in which you are using your Sixt company rental car.

7. Is there a Sixt service for roadside accidents?

You can add the optional Sixt mobility service during the reservation. This extended damage service protects you from the high costs of service and repair arising with one’s own fault, such as an empty fuel tank, a lost key or a bogged down car on national and international territory. The perfect Sixt car rental additional insurance in case something happens to you underway.

8. Are there special services to pick up or bring back the car?

At select Sixt stations, you can pick up or give back your company car beyond office hours. To see, if your station offers this service, simply check with your reservation or on the information regarding our worldwide stations.

Should you not be able to pick up or bring back your Sixt car to your station, we offer an optional Sixt pickup service and will bring your car directly to you.

Picking up your car will be quick and easy. Pick up your Sixt card and store the data you need to pick up your car on the card. That way you can save valuable at the station. We also offer an online check-in. We will send you a barcode that you can use to retrieve the car key at the station.

9. Can an additional driver drive the rented company car?

You may include additional drivers, who are at least 18 years old, in the rental contract by showing their driving licenses. If the additional driver cannot be present during pick-up, you can go to any Sixt station across the country to have the registration done. When picking up the car, presenting the original driving license of the additional driver is enough.

There will be no insurance coverage in the event of a claim until the additional driver has been included in the contract.

10. Can you use Sixt company rental cars one way?

With your Sixt company car, you can rent one-way trips in the United Kingdom and in the following countries: Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, The Czech Republic, France, Monaco, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Germany, Croatia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and Spain. The according fee relates to the station where you return the car.

Only passenger vehicles in and up to a full-size category (F***) with a maximum of 7 seats can travel overseas.

When calculating your rental price, the one-way fees are automatically taken into account.

12. Does Sixt offer trucks and vans as company cars?

Our wide range of rental cars for corporate customers includes all relevant types of vehicles from small cars to 15-ton trucks. For our commercial vehicles, we offer vans, transporters, small trucks and big trucks for short-term, long-term or even permanent rentals.

13. What is 3DSecure 2.0 when paying online?

With the new EU directive PSD2, a two-phase authorisation is required for all payments. This means that you authorise your car rental booking and then confirm the payment through your bank again.
